A huge big hug to both of you… just catching up on the diary which is fantastic John… You are such a fantastic writer… I actually started feeling teary reading through the diary… I makes me feel so overwhelmed… for both of you and the experiences that you are going through.. Meeting such beautiful people/.. it brought back the memories of my asian travels to China, Vietnam and the others… Everyone was sooooo helpful and considerate.. I was always made to feel at home.. It was wondeful and now at last I with you both experiencing them yourselves… I’m soo happy..
It looks like the hardest part you have passed.. which is becoming comfortable in the environment that you are travelling in.. the people, moving about the cities, comunication and in particular feeling safe… I cant tell you how happy I am that you are having a great time and feeling rather settled.. I know that you would have started working and I cant wait to hear about the new chapter of your teaching experiences in Korea.. Cant wait till I get a chance to come and visit and spend time with you both in your new 2nd home… Missing you both and sending you lots of love.. Dave

Hi Dave,
Great to hear from you. Yes, we are very happy and comfortable here in Korea. It is a great place to visit. We really miss our friends and family and because we are now teaching we have very little free time but winter camp will be over soon and we shall start travelling around Korea again and have time to update our blogs, pictures and to phone home. Hope all is well back in Australia.
Lots of love

Hi Gail and John Hope this finds you both well. We are fine. Have been enjying reading your diary so much. You two are amazing, what an adventure. Jodie and Ben are doing fine, they were over for a roast last night. It looks like Jodie may have got her self a job with my work doing videoing and editing! Shaun got a uni offer at Ballarat (Human Movement) but deferred and has accepted a pre-apprenticeship in Bulding and Consrtuction with a firm in Geelong. Gary and I are keeping busy, looking forward to Phuket in a month or so. Hope to talk with you soon. Take care and enjoy yourselves. Sue

Thanks Sue,
It has truely been a great experience for us and knowing that you and Gary are there watching over Jodie and Ben has such a bonus for us. We continue to travel and experience new things but we do miss everyone at home and little things such as our Sunday roast dinner. We are so proud of Jodie and her multimedia work – working at your workplace will be just such a fantastic experience for her. Good luck to Shaun – there is so much money in building and construction these days that I hope he enjoys the experience and learns lots. Cant wait to see what you think of Phuket – I am sure it will be great. Thanks for the update and for the care that you continue to take over our family.

Hi John and Gail,
Many years ago (80’s) I was a student at Wedderburn and John you were my maths teacher. Gail we played hockey together and our children were in a playgroup together. I am now, mature age, on the last leg of my teaching degree. I will graduate mid year for primary teaching. I was told this was one of the best blogs to go to for my research, and what a surprise, there you are. Great to see you both and wishing you both well.

Hi Debbie,
Wow, how time flys. You will love teaching. Using ICT to enhance your teaching and engage students is the way to go. I find that blogs are a great way to express both student and teacher work and they also help to link you to the rest of the educational world. John says to say and that yes of course we remember you and your brothers and parents and he asks that you pass on our best wishes from Korea. Good luck with your studies.

John
Finally found some time to sit and read some of your travels. Could relate to Beijing and you visited parts that we had ventured to. Well done on describing your travels and your experiences.
Regards to you both

Thanks Nola,
When we were in China we had to keep pinching ourselves – it was so hard to believe we were really in such a fascinating country. It was a great experience and hopefully we can return to see other areas. Best wishes and it was lovely to hear from you.
